Anscha
Lyrics
You've been a subtle earthy
like the gold-blue in your beauty
and your curly, flowy hair
when I saw you standing there
Youthful, dreamy ways
in shiny, open days
and all I did was gaze
You're still a cutie, honey
and now we have some money
You took the world for beauty
and led me to its bounty
River, sea and sun —
and stormy, windy fun
Life isn't always beachy
But your presence is a blessing
The decades wouldn't teach me
Nor my heart need any guessing
To the future and no bother
cause we'll always have each other
We won't have another care
and just be driving everywhere
You took the world for beauty
and led me to its bounty
River, sea and sun —
and lifting, windy fun
Youthful, dreamy ways
in shiny, open days
and I still like to gaze
Cause you're still my cutie, honey
and now let's spend the money

"Anscha" is a tribute to my lifelong friend and wife, tracing the evolution of a long-term relationship through the seasons of life.
In our early chapters, we had very little "stuff," but we had an abundance of enthusiasm and a fearlessness that fueled us. As the years pass and resources grow, it’s easy for the focus to shift toward protection and caution. This song is a pushback against that gravity. It argues that the vitality of our youth wasn't foolish—it was alive. "Anscha" is a celebration of a love that refuses to just be "managed safely," choosing instead to keep living fully
