Glyph
Would you find an ancient glyph
that told a timeless myth:
"Love is true and everlasting, dear -
like the light from the sun"
But you thought
you’d find it in her heart, dear,
now you’re always on the run -
and she only wants her fun
I don’t care for the moon’s pale light, dear,
I’ll be following the sun
I don’t heed my heart’s commands, dear,
for the world is almost done -
and the tune already sung
Her words are often sweet
and everytime you meet
it feels you are the only one, dear -
brightened by her sun
But the truth will come to you anon, dear,
like a shadow from the gun -
and where then will you run?
I don’t care for the moon’s pale light, dear,
I’ll be following the sun
I don’t heed my heart’s commands, dear,
for the world is almost done -
and the tune already sung
Now the myth fades from the stone dear
and the story’s almost done
Still I walk through embers, glowing, dear
always chasing down the sun

Glyph is my attempt to capture the beauty and fragility of love through music and imagery.
Inspired by a Beach House fan’s tribute to Myth (paired with scenes from Paris, Texas), I wrote my own lyrics and imagined an ancient, timeless love story — one that could have unfolded in any age, under any sky
This song explores the temporal nature of earthly love, especially the romantic kind: the unmatched beauty when two souls connect, and the equally profound ache when that bond is broken.
