Southern Sun

Lyrics

School is out
but no mere end to its day
this was holiday
and boy would we play!

The southern sun
brought so much fun
with no one to teach us
on its endless beaches

The moment was all
when our spirits stood all
and could never be done
with an excess of fun

Gliding the deep (so deep)
through the ocean’s keep (so wide)
quiet wonder man asunder
Salt on our skin
basking within

Of friends no lack
in a simple beach shack
With the moon and her light
a fire each night
Living off galleon and cob
and shellfish from rock

The moment was all
when our spirits stood tall
and could never be done
with an excess of fun

Dancing knaves
on thundering waves
Shining with might
we’d take on the night
and the dancefloor, all right!

Explosion of song
as we flew along
darlings and friends
it could never end

Beautiful smiles
from hearts that beguile
No protection
nor path correction

The moment was all
when our spirits stood tall
and could never be done
with an excess of fun

Those were days of wild abandon- living from moment to moment, purely for fun- never even considering the future, for life could never get better- and the only worthwhile future, was the present
